Integration Engineer
Virtual Hold Technology (VHT) is an innovative software developer specializing in virtual queuing solutions for contact centers of fortune 500 companies. The Integration Engineer is responsible for the deployment and technical integration of the Virtual Hold solution into diverse contact center environments.
Problems and Challenges
The biggest challenge the Integration Engineer faces is the ability to quickly understand complex customer environments. This person is also challenged with being able to coordinate and work with internal resources, customers and vendors to get the installation complete on time.
Essential Position Functions
Principle Accountabilities
- Installing and configuring Virtual Hold software, databases, and web services involving technologies such as Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server, IIS and .NET Framework.
- Working as part of a team to gather the customer's technical requirements and implementing a solution that fulfills them.
- Integrating Virtual Hold software with diverse call center technologies, including but not limited to: Genesys Framework, Cisco Intelligent Contact Management, Avaya MultiVantage/AES, Nortel Symposium/CCMS, and Aspect CallCenter/Contact Server.
- Assists with client training, if required.
- Request appropriate information from the customer
- Use available resources to analyze and resolve problems.
- Maintain schedule flexibility, working on non-standard business hours and shifts, or as necessary.
- Participation in the on-call rotation is required.
- Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
Authority
- Perform Installations under the direction of the Team Lead.
- Work with other departments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Escalate cases to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Contacts
- Contact is required with clients, Software Engineers, Support Engineers, and Sales Engineers.
Position Requirements
- Computer Science degree or diploma with relevant work experienced is desired.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with people in other departments and outside the company.
- Solid working knowledge of one or more key technology areas including: Telephony, IVR, Programming, Databases, and Operating Systems (Windows and UNIX).
- Familiarity with WAN/LAN is desired but knowledge of TCP/IP is required.
Position Restrictions
This is an exempt position and therefore is not eligible for overtime compensation.
Career Ladder
The logical career progression is to Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect.
